Respite care

Respite Care Arrangements

Respite may be offered at the time of entry for permanent care (whilst permanent care arrangements are being developed).  In these instances, the resident will be charged the Basic Daily Care Fee. Once the period of respite has been completed, the resident may then be offered permanent care, and the permanent care fees will   apply. All Australian Residents are entitled to 63 days of Respite per financial year.

Basic Daily Care Fee

All residents are required to pay the Basic Daily Care Fee (BDCF).  This fee is used to contribute towards day-to-day living costs such as meals, cleaning, laundry, heating and cooling, etc.

The maximum Basic Daily Care Fee is $63.57 per day, calculated at 85% of the Basic Age Pension.  This fee is paid fortnightly or monthly in advance and is calculated from the day you enter Murray Haven Homes.
