Costs – More Information

Murray Haven Homes offers high quality care to all who have an assessed need, regardless of your financial situation. The Australian Government subsidies a range of aged care services in Australia. The My Aged Care website offers a Residential Care Fee Estimator to help you estimate what aged care fees you may be asked to pay.

Murray Haven’s Fees are in accordance with the Australian Government, Department of Health & Aged Care, Schedule of Fees & Charges Residential & Home Care. Updated twice per year in March & September.  https://www.health.gov.au/resources/publications/schedule-of-fees-and-charges-for-residential-and-home-care?language=en

Murray Haven does not add any additional charges to the fees in this schedule.

Residents are required to submit a Request for a Combined Assets and Income Assessment with either the Department of Human Services or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.  Murray Haven recommends submission well in advance, as processing can take up to 4 weeks.  Residents who have not yet completed, or refuse to complete an assessment are required to pay full charges until an assessment is competed.  Any additional amounts paid by the resident will be refunded following the outcome of an assessment.

Provider Responsibilities

Murray Haven Homes will complete an Aged Care Entry Record for each new resident on entry.  The Aged Care Entry Record includes details on the agreed price and the resident’s elected method of payment. If the resident has not chosen their method of payment at the time the Aged Care Entry Record is first due to be submitted, these details will need to be updated once known and re-submitted by the service provider.

Financial Hardship

If you believe that you will face financial hardship in paying your aged care costs, you can ask to be considered for a financial hardship assessment. Please contact the Department of Human Services on 1800 227 475 or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs on 133 254 to see if you are eligible for this supplement.
