Pam Waldron

Pam joined the Murray Haven Homes Board in 2015 and has been a member of the executive committee since 2016. She brings more than 30 years’ experience in the financial and legal sectors. Pam has extensive experience in knowledge management having spent 20 years at National top-tier firms in the role of Knowledge Manager which included project management, strategy development, change management and content management.

Both professionally and personally, Pam has been on a number of committees. Her professional interests are in leadership, culture, innovation and aged care.

Jenny Orr - Vice President

Jenny Orr - Vice President

VICE PRESIDENT
Jenny Orr

A true local, Jenny was born in the Barham Hospital and completed her schooling in Koondrook and Barham. A mother of three and grandmother of two, Jenny continues her 47-year long career as a local dairy hand, having previously held management positions at the local café.

Jenny is a valued member of many local committees, holding previous positions as Rock’n’Roll Club President, Spinners and Weavers President and School Parents Committee Member. In addition to these committee positions, Jenny is a dedicated volunteer of the Hospital Auxiliary Opportunity Shop and Murray Haven Homes.

Wes O’Neill

Wes completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at the Bendigo College of Advanced Education, leading to the commencement of his financial career in 1990 as an auditor for the Victorian state government. In 1993 Wes joined an accounting firm in Deniliquin prior to opening an accounting practice under his own name in 1997, later becoming Murray River Accounting Pty Ltd. Wes has continued to operate this practice for the past 21 years, with the support of his wife Susan and two children Taylah and Mitchell

Born in Barham, Wes has been actively involved in the local cricket, football and tennis communities, with a strong passion for horse breeding and harness racing.

Tanya Heffer - Secretary

Tanya Heffer

Tanya was born in Barham and attended Barham Primary and High Schools. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Canberra in the late 1970s and went on to work as a Personal Secretary / Bookkeeper for the national office of Housing Industry Association. Tanya worked in Canberra during the 1980s and travelled extensively both in Australia and overseas, before returning to Barham and married life in the early 1990s.

Tanya and Graham raised three children whilst working in the family farm partnership. She has been involved as Treasurer of the Barham Pre-School and Barham High School P&C and Secretary/Treasurer of the Koondrook-Barham Junior Basketball while the children attended school and participated in local sport.

With the children grown up, Tanya decided to take on a new challenge as a Murray Haven Board member.

Donald Taylor - Director

Donald Taylor - Director

Donald Taylor

Don grew up in Sydney, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma of Education from Sydney University. He was appointed to Barham High School in February 1979 and has been teaching here since then, currently holding the positions of head teacher of Maths, Music and LOTE and VET Coordinator.

When he married Leslie in 1990, he became step-father to five sons, and in the next three years, three more sons were added to the family. During his time in Barham, Don has been President of the Barham Squash Club, Assistant Secretary of the Border Football Club, team manager of the Koondrook Barham Football Club Colts, Front of House Manager for the Golden Rivers Theatre Group, and a member of the Koondrook Barham Baptist Church.

When approached to join the Board of Murray Haven Homes, he saw it as another opportunity to contribute to the community that has been so welcoming.

Carol Sincock - Director

Carol Sincock - Director

Carol Sincock

Carol grew up in Melbourne where she completed her Diploma in Dress Making and tailoring  She married Russell in 1973 and had 2 children.  The family moved to Barham in 1989 where both children attended Barham High School.

Carol has 45 years experience in running her own businesses in diverse areas including floristry, motel propriety and the building industry. Carol has been an active volunteer in her community in the past including Meals on Wheels, Secretary/Treasury of Spinners and Weavers, Head Pavilion Steward for Barham Koondrook Show Society and regularly assembles floral arrangements for Barham Anglican Church.

In 2010 Carol’s mother Sylvia took up residence in Murray Haven and spent three and half wonderful years being well look after in a happy environment.  Carol has shown a dedication in wanting to give back to the community and her skills and expertise will be much welcomed on the board.

David Derkson - Director

David Derkson

David and his wife Bree moved from Darwin four years ago, where they both worked in construction. David married local lady, Bree Patten, in Moama in November 2016. His hobbies include fishing in the local area, and also gold detecting in country Victoria. Both David and Bree enjoy camping, relaxing and spending time with their family, and also their silver blue kelpie, Bonnie.

David and Bree are currently enjoying their new adventure of owning and operating Trend Skate & Surf and Trend Toys & Outdoors, which they recently expanded in 2019 into a new and larger shop in Barham.
